Urban Bath Reimagined

The design and renovation of the 92-square foot, L-shaped bathroom in a third-floor condominium in Boston’s Downtown Crossing neighborhood shows that an inviting and calm space can be created using materials like concrete, stainless steel and wood. These materials represent the client’s aesthetic – modern and urban combined with warm woods. Views of the city in the only bathroom in this one-bedroom apartment reinforce this aesthetic with views of city living beyond.

Cast concrete was used for the bathroom window sills and repeated in the living room. Ripple fold draperies and matching sun shades soften the hard surfaces and reflect the sunlight.
